VITA GMS offers free tax services to people needing assistance in preparing and electronically filing their tax returns. We offer this service to English and Spanish speaking individuals. VITA GMS will help clients avoid predatory financial tools or services: Knowing how someone plans on receiving their refund can help you divert them from predatory options like high-interest refund advance loans or high-fee check cashing services. It is our intention to help the taxpayer maximize their refund by discussing their plans on how to use their refund. This can be a great time to make progress on one of their financial goals. If they owe, VITA GMS will support them in getting on a payment plan: It’s not always easy to navigate the IRS to set up a payment plan. VITA GMS can help clients calculate an affordable monthly payment and apply for a payment plan online or by phone. We provide follow-up services for clients who have questions pertaining to Federal and State assistance programs.
